Love & Basketball

Today was a pretty low key. I ended up going our from to shoot the basketball around a little. My dad came out and we shot around together and then played around the world, I won! Ha

Then we rented a few movies at blockbuster! I love my dad so much, and getting to spend the day with him laughing and having fun was perfect! I'm going to miss him so much when we move to Charleston. The truth is that it will probably be way harder than I can even imagine.

I've lived here in this house, in this neighborhood, since I was seven. I hardly remember anything other than this. It will be hard, but I know it is all for the best. Being with Brian again will be wonderful, but I will miss my family so very much!

A day with my dad is just what I needed!

Friday the 13th

Tonight after I got home from watching a movie with Chelsea all the cars were here, but no one was home. I looked everywhere in the house and thought they were playing a Friday the 13th joke on me! Ha Come to find out they were just over at the Ried's house for Justin's birthday. I went over and while I was there Bishop Ried gave me some military scriptures to send to Brian. That was so nice of him! I'll have to figure out how to get them to him.

Going Home Outfit

It was a great day! I got a letter from Brian! He's doing great and is the RPOC of the group he's in. I guess that is the leader of the the group so that's great! I guess it means he has to talk/yell a lot so he hardly has a voice!

After work I looked around the mall a little. While I was "window shopping" I found the cutest a baby boy outfit I have ever seen! I got it! It's going to be Ethan's "going home outfit" and now that I have that the hospital bag is complete! Oh my gosh, he's going to be here so soon! I'm due in a week and a half. Ten days!

I'm so excited

I'm getting so excited for sweet baby Ethan to get here. I went to wolf camera to get a bigger card for our camera since I'm sure we'll be taking a million pictures once Ethan gets here!

I also have come to the conclusion that it would be perfect if Ethan came ON his due date! Ha if only I could control that! I can't wait to see what he looks like, his eye and hair color, and which one of us he resembles the most! Ahhh its just all so exciting! But mostly I can't wait to love him up!

I wish so badly Brian was here, but I'm so grateful for the sacrifices he's making for our family! I saw the pictures today of Jennie at Phillips boot amp graduation and it made me so excited for all the pictures that we are have from Brian's!

Shopping

Today Chelsea and I headed to the Cherry Creek mall. I got the cutest outfit for Ethan. I can't wait for him to get here!

We had lunch and then zipped over to Park Meadows for a pair of school they had on hold in Chelsea's size. While we were getting Chelsea's shoes I found the cutest baby Shox EVER! I couldn't resist, Ethan had to have them! We finished up the trip getting a few shirts for Brian, which I probably only got because I missing him like crazy!

At the mall I rent over to visit with my mother in law, Rene. I was fun to catch up with her. While I was there Alec called, and is the sweetest child alive! He said he thinks I'm beautiful and I melted into a puddle right on the spot!

45 more days until I see Brian again!

Sunday

I love Sundays! Today I taught the 4 year old at church and they are the cutest things ever! I had such a great time being in there with them!

Today I got a call from Bro. Hinckley, the lay leader of your ward up there, and he said Brian was doing great! It was so nice to hear from someone about how he is doing. He said that Brian's a little homesick, but all and all doing really well! He also a called Rene and I know it was a huge blessing to her to hear from his as well.

Since I couldn't hang last night for my long movie marathon I watched Seven Brides for Seven Brothers tonight. The best movie ever!!

Cousins, Receptions, and Blockbuster

Late last night Jamie, Bryan, Rachel, and Danny stopped in to sleep before they finish their drive from Provo to Jeff City. They wanted to get an early start so they weren't here for long, but it was fun getting to see them!

Then it was off to work for me and my parents went to the temple for Mark and Kattie's sealing.  After work I changed clothes and headed over to the church for Kattie's reception. She looked the most beautiful I have ever seen her, and you could just feel how happy she is. I love Kattie like a big sister. She has been such a great example to me for as long as I can remember. I'm so happy for her!

After the reception Amber and I hit up blockbuster to rent Heidi and Seven Brides for Seven Brothers. We got half way through Heidi and decided to call it a night. Ha

Feeling Blue

Ok so with Brian gone I have to have a few days here and there when I just feel sorry for myself, right?!?! Well, I sure did that today.

Then this afternoon I went over to visit with Rachel. It was so nice to get to chat with her and play with Britta and Jake. I'm grateful she is willing to take time from her busy day to visit with me. They are moving to Utah in 2 weeks and I'm going to miss her like crazy!

I think I'm also getting nervous about the actual labor and delivery process. There are so many things to know and think about. I just pray everything goes well. And I would be lying if I said I wasn't scared of the pain! All I can do is be prepared as possible and prayerful, but all the unknowns are making me a little crazy!

Highlights

Should I be embarrassed these are the highlights of my day.

* trip to Target for shampoo and toothpaste
* went the Chelsea's to watch MTV music awards
* laughed at all the Mariah Carey jokes during said awards show
* came home and took a bath

I hope this didn't make anyone jealous of the awesomely, fun life I live! Ha

Waiting and a Shower

Yesterday I was gone when the UPS man tried to drop off my phone. I was bound and determined not to miss him today. The slip of paper left said he would be here today sometime between 10:30-2:00. The only time I wasn't near the phone was when I took a shower. I did my hair and makeup in the front room to make sure I could hear the door bell.

Guess what the drop of was... 5:30! Ha I guess those time slips aren't hard and fast! The good news is it's here and up and running! I sure hope Brian get to call soon!

This evening I went to the church for Kattie's wedding shower. It was fun to see some people I hadn't seen in along time. She got some beautiful things and was absolutely glowing. I'm so excited for her. She is one of the he greatest people I have event known, and hope for nothing but the best for her and Mark!

A long walk

It's been a great low key day spent mostly at home getting my things ready for Ethan! Ah it's so exciting just to type that! I've just been cleaning and doing laundry to make sure all Ethan's clothes are ready to go. My main focus today was getting my hospital bag together. I printed out a list I found online about all the things you need to have for the hospital stay. It's long, and do some things seem unnecessary, but it's mostly ready to go!

It was such a perfect night tonight that I decided to take Phoenix for a walk. It was nice to get a little exercise and be out in the fresh air. The best part was just getting to think about the changes that are coming. I'm feeling excited and anxious! I miss Brian and wish he was a here to do all these little things with me. I'm so grateful for my parents, and the love and support they are to me!

Happy Birthday Dad

It was a busy day. Chelsea and I dropped her car off at discount tires, and then went to visit Brian's recruiter Hunter. I had a few questions that I needed to ask him, and it was on the way so it worked out perfectly! Then we headed to the scrapbook store. I really want Ethan to have a scarpbook of his first year. I hope I can keep up with it!

For lunch we had Chinese food, yum!

With Ethan's arrival right around the corner I've been stressed about having everything we need together. Since he's our first I'm not really sure what "everything" entails! Ha Also we are having Ethan's shower after he is born so I only want to get things that he has to have right away. I got a few things at target today and hope we are all set for the big arrival. He still needs a "coming home" outfit, so I better get on that!

For my dad's birthday we had a family dinner and cake with whipped frosting, his favorite! It was nice and quite, just the five of us!

Happy birthday, daddy! I love you to the moon and back!
