All Hallows Eve Party

The Friday before Halloween we were invited to a Halloween Party and the kids were excited, until they heard there was going to be a MAGICIAN and then they were ECSTATIC!

After the show I got Kai a plate of diner and asked him what his favorite part was. 

Kai: When he ATE Fire!

Me: That was really cool, are you going to try that when we get home?

Kai: YES!

Me: Wrong! The answer to that is NO!

Olivia lasted about 3.5 seconds once we got in the car

But Ethan was still going strong!

Jumping

Jumping in leaves is so refreshing and a sure sign that Autumn is in full swing. 

I don't know what I loved better watching the kids laugh as they jumped or laughing 

with them as Brian and I jumped! 

Today was practically perfect in every way!

Movie Review

This week Brian and I took the big kids to see Where The Wild Things Are. I will be honest and say that I was super excited since it is the greatest book ever written! Brian on the other hand mainly went because the kids were so excited.

Well, I don't want to ruin it for those who haven't seen it yet but want to, so I will say this. In my humble opinion it was TERRIBLE. First of all the kid who plays Max is way to old (10-12) Is it just me or did he seem much younger in the book. I was picturing Max as Kai's age, not just because Kai is crazy, but that is just the age I had in my mind. So when 10-12 year old Max was on the table yelling then biting his mom, it was disturbing on a whole different level. I am not going to go on except to say that the best part was the trailer for the movie The Blind Side which looks VERY good.

The kids however thought Where The Wild Things Are was great and have been laughing and talking about the funny parts ever since, and there were a few funny parts.

The Festivites

Friday was a perfectly wonderful Birthday! The kids woke me up yelling "it's tomorrow, it's tomorrow! It's your Birthday!"

I loved the enthusiasm just not the hour 7:00am to be exact!

I had to wait a few minutes before I could come down stairs where I was greeted by a delicious omelet, OJ, toast (with extra butter) and apples! 

After breakfast I headed up to take a shower and get ready for the day! 

By the time I was dressed the kids were ready for the next part of my day, and well so was I. PRESENT TIME! I know it seems silly but I LOVE IT!

Brian mad a scavenger hunt for me to follow to find my gifts. 

It was HARD. Brian clues were hilarious and were the best part.

Clue 1: took me to the freezer where already frozen Peanut Butter Cups were

Clue 2: took me to the closest

Inside was THE jacket

Clue 3: took me to Luke's jumper

It was the the Uggs, well kind of. When Brian talked to the people at the mall they said that the Uggs soles have been coming apart after about a year and that the emu were better. He got those instead which is fine with me. I just want warm feet!

Clue 4: had me playing a song (jurassic park theme song) at the piano. And then another gift which was Tunisian Pearl earrings from my dad!

It was great and the Slideshow proved worth while!!

Latter in the day we ate pizza and cake and I blew out my candles! 

I think 24 will be a great year!

My Wish List

So this year I am not leaving anything up to chance! I made Brian a Power Point Slide show of exactly what I wanted so there would be no question. I figured I would post the list here today and then show pictures tomorrow to see if we are even close! Just as a side note I am not expecting all of these things! We listened to a talk by Dr. Lund who suggested giving a list of multiple items so there is still a since of surprise because you don't know which one you are going to get!

So, in no particular order:

*Red Shiny Beach Cruiser complete with basket and bell (to match Olivia)

*Uggs 

*Coat

*Four Different Dresses - again for the surprise element not because I really think I an getting all four

*Three pairs of shoes - all so cute!!!

PS. Luke is crawling!!!!!

Happy October To YOU!

THE BEST MONTH OF THE WHOLE YEAR IS HERE! 

I have been waiting patiently and couldn't be happier that October is here. You all know I love this time of year and especially this month! So Happy Birthday Month to ME! I will be enjoying it to the fullest. The kids and I will make a calendar of something Halloweenie to do each day of the month, and tonight will be our annual October-Kick-Off-Diner. 

Brian and I are listening to some CD's by Dr. Lund about marriage and he suggested giving a list of 3-5 items you want for your birthday to your spouse so there is no questions on what he should get you! 

I have 2 items in mind that I want so I am taking suggestions for items 3-5! I will post the full list here when I give it to Brian so we can all see how good he did picking something for me!

October Kick Off Dinner

Every year we have a big dinner to celebrate Oct the greatest month EVER. This year we are at my parents house, so we don't have all our decorations and regular halloween stuff but that didn't stop us. We used all the cool stuff my mom had and I went out and got a few little extras to make sure it was ultra special. My mom was working and my dad had to be at church but Chris and his friend Cameron ate with us.

It is Luke's first "Spooky Dinner" and he LOVED it. He wasn't freaked out by it at all!
