Update

Well, I guess it is time for a West Family update. I have been a slacker this year so far at blogging and a lot is going on with us these days! I guess I will just start at the beginning. At the first of the year Brian and I spend a lot of time discussing what the future holds for us, specifically applying for jobs outside of Denver. During one "discussion" I was feeling particularly overwhelmed and possibly become slightly dramatic (I know not me, right), and applied to a job I had looked at lot that whole week. It was a Sr Engineering position with Westinghouse Electric that was a perfect fit for Brian, and it was located in Cranberry Township, PA. Honestly, the name Cranberry Township had me sold and I figured if I was moving then I needed to be in a place with a cute name and that was it. Again remember I was having major "freak out" at this point. So I filled out all the information, with Brian's permission, and submitted his resume.

Well, TWO DAYS LATER they called to set up a phone interview. TWO DAYS! We have spent the past 6 months looking for a job in CO and the only things that have come up are sales jobs, which he is actually doing right now and we are so grateful for that, but it has come to a point where that just isn't going to get us anything that we need, mainly a house!

Anyways I was freaking out and have been ever since. I mean are people not allowed moments to have mental breakdowns anymore? Well he had the phone interview and he said he thought it went really well, I don't really know what the means or what to think so I just go on with my life. When I say go on with my life I mean check his email ever two minutes to see if they have gotten back. Well the phone interview was on a Monday and the HR people called him that Friday to set up an in person interview! While he was on the phone he asked how many people were coming out for an in person and she said "just you right now!"

Insert major freak out here!

So Brian left Thursday and had the interview Friday (yesterday) and is now home again. He said he thought it went great and he is super excited and hopeful about it. They told him he would know within the next two week, which I really hope is sooner then that or I might have NO hair left!

So that is our update! We MIGHT be moving to PA! Which sounds like an adventure but also a lot of work. I really don't know where I am on it right now. I mean I know if they offer it we are going to take it, but I just don't know how I am feeling about it! On a funny note when Brian was there he called me and said "well, I found the church building and Ann Taylor Loft" trying to sell me, as if those are the only two things I need in this world to survive!

Please pray for our family and that Brian does get this job! We would really appreciate it!

Sprouts

Today Kai went on a field trip with his preschool to Sprouts.

They got to go behind the cash register and turn the belt off and on
This is them with Ms. Carmen who gave them the tour
This was the bakery man who was a favorite because he gave them cookies
At the deli where they got cheese

This guy was pouring the granola and Kai thought that was fascinating. I think the bins that opened up were his favorite part. I think he might have opened almost of all them!

It was a great day and the kids really scored. They got a cookie, apple, banana, cheese, three cups to fill up with anything they wanted from the cool bins (they all went straight for the candy), chap stick, and the moms got a recyclable Sprout's bag! SCORE!

Walking

Luke is 11 months which is way too close to 1!

Right now he:
- walks all over the place
- is in love with Olivia
- yells during sacrament meeting, so he walks the halls
- eats constantly
- has no teeth
- loves bath time
- loves to be outside
- rips paper and then eats it
- can climb on things (couches, kids toy chest)

Luke is getting so close to 1 and it is freaking me out! How has a WHOLE year passed? I wish he would just stop walking and stay little for just a month longer! I am so grateful he is such a sweet baby and so much fun. I just want the baby stage to last as long as possible!!!!

The Kiddos

Today we took the kids out for some updated pictures of all four of them. When I say updated I mean the only pictures of all four! Picture of my own kids is normally my biggest nightmare. They usually don't want to cooperate of give silly fake smiles. This time they ALL were wonderful. I would even go as far as calling our afternoon fun. There was one pose that Olivia was "sad" about and while it was happening I didn't understand why but when we got home and I was looking at the pictures I realized it was the only pose where she was holding or touching Luke! She is a funny girl!

BUSTED by Olivia

Olivia sees Kai using my camera

She yells "MOM"
Then she runs off to tell me
Never mind that just last week she was BUSTED by Kai for using my camera!
