Movie Review
This week Brian and I took the big kids to see Where The Wild Things Are. I will be honest and say that I was super excited since it is the greatest book ever written! Brian on the other hand mainly went because the kids were so excited.
Well, I don't want to ruin it for those who haven't seen it yet but want to, so I will say this. In my humble opinion it was TERRIBLE. First of all the kid who plays Max is way to old (10-12) Is it just me or did he seem much younger in the book. I was picturing Max as Kai's age, not just because Kai is crazy, but that is just the age I had in my mind. So when 10-12 year old Max was on the table yelling then biting his mom, it was disturbing on a whole different level. I am not going to go on except to say that the best part was the trailer for the movie The Blind Side which looks VERY good.
The kids however thought Where The Wild Things Are was great and have been laughing and talking about the funny parts ever since, and there were a few funny parts.

Love the honest review. We'll be sure to skip that one!
oh wow! I did like that trailer. I could barely tell that was Sandra Bullock because of her super well done accent! Now as far as Where the Wild Things Are... I didn't even know there was a movie... (the perks of not having TV... we watch everything over the internet) but I always pictured the little boy to be like a first grader not a middle schooler! So I agree with you there. But since your kids liked it, I will rent it for mine and just bare it... but since you hated it, I am going to wait until it is on video!!!!!
Thanks for the review. I have to buy 8 tickets when we go to the real theater so it has to be for a SUPERB movie!
Hey Ganelle, we were reading Danae's blog at the same time! Great minds think alike!!!
ohhhh im blubbering at that trailer..
looks like a must watch.
Christina I didn't even think about the 8 tickets ouch! After Brian paid for our 5 Kai said "what 30 dollars." If a three year old knows that is too much for a movie then there is a problem!
I saw a trailer for that movie a couple months ago and can't wait to see it!
Wasn't planning on seeing the movie, so I'll continue with that plan! I agree that "The Blind Side" does look really good! I'll have to add that one to my Netflix list.
The Blind side is going to be a movie I of course WILL be going to!!! I think more members need to see this movie! Lot's of kids out there that need families that just as sweet as this kid! After all our religion is about family. What the heck are we doing as a religion when there are all the kids with no families. Aaaand I'm done:) Love that you got to go with the kids to the movie. Sweet.
I love this post because I can TOTALLY hear your voice saying it was "terrible". As for The Blind Side, it looks AWESOME! I'm so glad you shared. We don't have TV either, so we need friends like you to help us out.
