Happy Chinese New Year

Last Friday Ethan came home from school with his February calendar. He was to say the least frustrated that we had done nothing for Rosa Parks' Birthday, but was ready to put it all behind him for a Chinese New Year celebration. Since I am not one to crush any party having dreams I told him I would make it happen. After I dropped him and Olivia off at school this morning I started planning. Since it was a last minute party with only a day to prepare I decided we would just order Chinese food so that I could focus 100% on the decor.

The best part, of course I don't have a picture of, was when they got home from school and saw the Chinese Dragon on the front door. They were both so excited and couldn't wait to get inside to see what else was in store for them.

Kai was such a great helper all day long!

Ethan's this is awesome dance!

While I was plating up dinner Ethan was looking at his calendar.

He said in his most serious voice, "Mom, what are we going to do for Abraham Lincoln's Birthday?"

I said, "I don't know Ethan"

Brian said, "Don't be so surprised, you made him this way!"

I love that Ethan and I share the love for a good party no matter the reason.

It as a good day.
