East Crestridge Circle

Summer days always started early on East Crestridge Circle. Kids of all ages were up and ready for the full day of play they had ahead of them. This was back when you could ride your bike around the block without your mom, play all day only coming home for a quick lunch, a time when every parent was at times your parent, guiding you to make good choices. These were some of the best days of my life.

Last week Ethan and Ollie learned to ride their own two-wheelers on East Crestridge Circle, and a flood of memories came to mind as I rode my own bike up and down the street with them. Memories that consisted of block parties, basketball, baseball, our own version of the Olympics, “Night Games”, chasing bunnies, the old clubhouse, and all sorts of wonderful holidays. I was so blessed having been raised on this street with some of the most amazing people I have ever known.

 So, to East Crestridge Cir,:

Thanks for teaching me to ride a two-wheeler and for catching/scraping me when I fell. Thanks for letting me teach my kids how to ride their own two-wheelers here, and for cutting Ollies face open in your familiar, loving way! I love every second I've spent with you!

Oh Danae! That is so in our old front yard! I loved the clubhouse, block parties and all of that! I wish that picture was bigger! Do you have others? Thanks for the memories!

Danae, that is so funny. I was visiting Kyra and I guess I was logged in under her account when I commented last time. That was MY old front yard, I miss seeing your parents across the street when we come home. Next time we are in Colorado, we definetly want to come see you guys.

Yeah I wasn't cool enough to live on your street. We lived a couple streets down with the older people. It's weird though that heather, kattie and I lived in the same neighborhood though. Love the outfits btw so 90's:) Overalls were the coolest!

It's always nice to be where your roots are. Hey, I hope it's okay that we are naming our baby Ethan. I have worried about it and hope you don't mind. We really love the name and your Ethan is the only other one we know... and he's GREAT!
Miss you here in WA.

Wow! That picture sure brings back memories. I remember the summer night games. Simpler times, huh? Thanks for the trip down memory lane.
