To use the word "busy" to describe our lives these past few months would be a huge understatement. Although, I always hate to use that as an excuse because who isn't busy, but 6 baseball games a week leaves little time for anything else.
The calendar was FULL and I knew it would be a marathon of a day. First of all the children are STILL in school which basically means I am STILL making lunches at 7 in the morning. ANNOYING!
After Ethan and Olivia left we had exactly 1.5 hours to get ready to leave for the dairy farm. That sounds like a lot of time, but one of my life rules is to not schedule ANYTHING that would require us to leave the house before 10. Brian thinks that is just embarrassing, but I call it realistic.
I love going to Marburger Dairy Farm, we went last year, because I want the children to understand that food doesn't come from the grocery store. The people who give the tours at Marburger do such a great job explaining to the children (and me) the process, and the work that it takes to operate everything. It also solitified that dairy farming wasn't for me since the first milking would be at 2:30am, which breaks my 10am rule.
I couldn't find my sunglasses so Luke brought his.... for HIM! Yep that helped! HA
In the barn with some cows.
Baby Lyla
The boys were bound and determined to feed these cows. The lady leading the group told them they could pet the cows, but after a few tries Kai complained to me that they weren't letting him pet them. My response of "well, they aren't dogs" didn't slow him down one bit!
At the very end they get to pick some milk to drink. Kai and Luke both picked Strawberry. Kai was sitting by his friends and therefore not sitting by us.
Luke with his buddies Ethan and Andrew.
After we drank our milk we were off to my visiting teachers house for lunch and a visit. I had to watch the clock to make sure that I didn't miss Kai's Field day.
Before he went to school Kai asked me, "are you going to remember field day?"
I told him "yes, of course!"
"well, are you going to be the last mom there?"
"Yes I will. After all the other moms get here wait about 10 minutes and then I will be there."
As it turns out I was only 6 minutes late!
Field day was a blast and Luke even got to participate. They did a few relays, the under-over game, tug of war, and hoopla. I am so glad I was only 6 minutes late! HA We didn't end up missing a single moment of fun!
We even got to see Olivia! I ran over to take her picture (which she asked me not to take, but I just couldn't comply to that request). She is so crazy!
After school we have our normal 10 seconds to unwind before we have to eat and get ready for baseball/softball. Tonight Ethan and Olivia had games at the same time at different parks. There are few things I love more in this world then watching them play, and the thought of missing one of their games just about killed me. In the end Ethan and Olivia did rock, paper, scissors to see who's game I was going to. Ethan won!
It was so much fun to watch Ethan and to see the progress he has made this season. Right after this picture was taken he hit the ball WAY over the first baseman's head and into the outfield.
Then I cheered obnoxiously loud!
